At Waimea, all students participate in Digital Technologies lessons from K – 6. In this subject area there is a focus on knowledge and understanding of data and how we interact with digital systems.
Students in K – 2 develop their foundational knowledge of computational thinking through such activities as programming robots, iPad apps and creating programs using block coding.
Students in 3 – 6 build on this foundation to further develop their computational thinking and design solution skills, making use of a wide range of software and hardware that we have available.
