Parent Involvement

We welcome parents, carers and family members to our school. There are a large number of ways in which families can get involved at Waimea including helping in classrooms, accompanying excursions, attending our Assemblies and special events, and lending a hand with tasks around the school such as listening to children read or sorting lost property.

Our School Association meets around twice per term and serves to bring our school community together, as well as to advise the Principal on the general operations of the school. Each year the Association runs a variety of events aimed at fostering a strong, connected school community – parents, carers and family members are welcome and encouraged to attend and/or help run these events. Parents/carers of Waimea students are automatically members of the School Association, and are encouraged to join us at the School Association meetings, which are advertised in our school newsletter.
